We couldn’t have chosen a better way to ease the winter blues than by holding our first South Newington Flower Show meeting for 2018, and discussing our plans for the upcoming Show!
We were all imagining the Poleaxe on a summers day, bunting flapping in the breeze and the mouthwatering smell of a BBQ lunch drifting across the scene from Richard and Vanessa’s hot dog and hamburger stall.

We could imagine exclamations of wonder and amazement emanating from the judges in the marquee as they take in all of the skills that South Newingtonians have to offer – the best place to show off those baking skills in either our new category of ‘Showstopper Cake’ which is open to everybody , or a cake recipe especially for the Gentlemen of the Village to show off their baking skills, and wow us ladies too!

We are also adding a category called  ‘Made in South Newington’ where you enter anything you feel really proud of making yourself – your marmalade, or your knitted jumper, or your painting. As long as you made it, you can enter it!

This is also the time to start letting us know if you would like to place an advertisement in the Flower Show programme, or you know somebody who does. Please contact any of the Committee members for help or advice.

Get those inspirational and creative juices flowing South Newington, there are so many chances to shine at this show. Lets make it a corker!
