The Flower Show Committee met again last week to continue making the arrangements for the 2017 show. Discussions on how to move forward on an evening event were had. Likely, this will be a “bring-n-share” event, like the successful street party we held in the village last year, which was well attended and much enjoyed. We’ll send out more info on this as it develops…
On advertising, we have it in the bag, with the book closing at the end of March. We have some familiar patrons, but some new ones too. You’ll see them soon, along with the great new schedule cover design, as soon as we release the 2017 Flower Show Schedules.
New for this year, we will be putting the colouring and handwriting sheets onto the village website. Hopefully, this will bring the convenience of printing off sheets as and when they’re needed. If it goes wrong, print some more and have another go… Of course, the traditional hard copies will also be available too.
Sunflowers and potatoes. We previously posted on the website that seeds for these competitions are now available. Get those green fingers working…
And finally, wait until you see the prizes this year. Some familiar favourites, but some great new ones too.
All very exciting… Keep you posted.

This year we will feature two displays in the church – the Art Group will be exhibiting their work and we also invite everyone in the village to start looking out their blazers, ties, games, photos etc to display on the theme of Childhood and Schooldays.
Dates have been decided, a few new classes added and some novel attractions included. The new schedules will be distributed around Easter time as usual and will also be posted on the village website

The Flower Show committee met last week as momentum starts to build towards the show this summer. There are still lots of things to be done, managed and organised, but Paula and her team are keeping things firmly on track.
The team are considering options for an evening event in order to maximise the use of the marquee whilst we have it. Nothing finalised yet, but hoping to squeeze a little more fun into the evening.
Advertising is a hot topic too. With the deadline for advertisers coming up, the committee are busy looking for businesses who are interested in placing an ad in the programme. If you would like to, or know someone who would, drop the committee a note.
A big thank you to everyone who entered our Design A Cover competition. The committee reviewed, discussed and admired all the cover designs, finally settling on a winner. It was noted though that all the entries were fabulous and any one of them would have made for an excellent programme cover.
Cups, stalls, entertainment… We still have much to do and are meeting up again in April.
Keep you posted.
