Oxfordshire Science Festival: Look again… Look Deeper… See the world with fresh eyes

Between Friday 16th and Wednesday 21st June, the Oxfordshire Science Festival invites everyone, young and old, to explore the dynamic scientific research and creativity in and around the vibrant city of Oxford.

Researchers, journalists, policymakers and industrial experts will come together in locations around Oxford city centre, to share thought-provoking and innovative ideas with the public. There really will be something for everyone, from talks and debates to science cabaret and family shows. A highlight of the programme will be a busy weekend of exciting hands-on activities, performances and workshops, with a family-friendly Research Fair in Oxford Town Hall from 12pm to 5pm on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June.

Visit the Festival website for more information. The full programme will be available in late April. www.oxfordshiresciencefestival.com

A361 Working Group

At the South Newington Parish Council meeting held on 24th Jan 2017, Cllr Brown informed the meeting via his emailed report there was to be an initial meeting of the A361 Working Group and at some stage they will be seeking the input of the South Newington residents and Parish Council.

An article has been published in the Bloxham Broadsheet on this matter, which may be of interest to many villagers.

South Newington Big Village Tidy up – Sat 4th March 2017

A big thank you to all those who came together to tidy-up the village on Saturday morning.  As you can see, we managed to collect quite a lot of rubbish which had found its way into the village.  Some quite large items too.  Rest assured, it will be finding its way back out of the village and we can all enjoy our beautiful and tidy village as spring arrives.
